A new series of etchings in the making, these prints revisit the bush, the “wilderness” and “landscape” that have remained foundational to all the artists creative practice, either figurative or abstract. An ambitious project involving at least three large etchings, and multiple final forms including books.
the (silverwattle) bookfoundry is the realization of a nomadic artists publishing practice initiated in 1991 by Tim Mosely. With over 30 years of professional experience and having assembled over 50 artists books Tim maintains a lucid perspective on the book as a potent element within the vocabularies of creative practice. Drawing on a lifetime of experience in printmaking studios he is able to employ intaglio, relief, silkscreening and papermaking techniques in his work.He has developed a unique papermaking technique termed '“pulp printing” that combined with wet sheet collage is a highly versatile process for image generation in the sheet forming stage of the papermaking process.

this series of artists books are part of a larger body of work that contributes to a developing vocabulary that can articulately engage “tactile experience”, i.e. haptic perception, in the reception and evaluation of works of art.
the books are the outcome of investigations into “representation by touch” and “haptic explorative procedures”, employing humanity’s relationship with wilderness as a vehicle for those investigations.
ep’s is the first book in the series, grasping the nettle is the second, fragments of euclidean space suspended within the folds of smooth space, and more are currently in production.
the codex events at QCA were initiated in 2011 with codex event 8. Each event is collaborative in nature and aims to produce either a series of artists books or an editioned artists book. The nature of each event is shaped by the invited participants who are asked to investigate the relationship between three fundamental elements of Print Culture; papermaking, printmaking and the book. The events were initiated in 2004 by Tim Mosely while at Southern Cross University.
